Omelets, omelets, and more omelets! Pat and Lorraine’s serves the best American breakfast in Northeast Los Angeles. Dishes are very reasonably priced. They use three eggs (egg whites on request) and every ingredient you can imagine to spice up the flavor of the omelets.
One of the owners is the chef, Juan. He worked there for many years before the previous owner sold him the place.
Everything here is extremely fresh. It’s a local hangout for Occidental College students and faculty. The place is as “home town” as you get. The waitresses have worked here an average of 8 years. There is a wonderful outdoor patio and a 1950s era food counter. Since the owners are Latino, the Mexican food is very good. Definitely try the chile verde if you’re in the mood for Mexican.
They serve breakfast and lunch only and it’s been known to get very crowded on weekend mornings. Despite the prevalence of many trendy new restaurants up the street on Colorado Blvd, Pat and Lorraine’s is definitely holding its own. Eagle Rock is better for having this wonderful place around.
