Magpie is my favorite restaurant in Sacramento. They offer inventive food and baked goods for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The management at Magpie is environmentally minded: all the meat is sourced, meaning they know where it comes from, and most of the offerings are local and organic.
In the bakery section you’ll find sweet and savory scones at any time of day and a wide assortment of fantastic goods for takeout or eat in. The salads are made with ultra fresh greens and seasonal vinaigrette. They use Acme bread cut into long croutons as the sandwich and soup bread.
The menu changes daily, except for a few regular dishes in rotation and it’s vegetarian and vegan friendly. It’s a bit crowded at lunch, but the staff is super nice and the turnaround quick, so you won’t be waiting long for a seat a table or the counter.
