Bun-N Burger is the kissing cousin to Pie’n Burger in Pasadena. It is a wonderful, old, 50’s style hamburger joint reminiscent of the ones you would see on the Ozzie and Harriett Show.
Bun-N Burger serves both American and Mexican food. The original restaurant was made up of a counter section along with an additional six tables. The previous owners did so well, however, they were able to take over another 2,000 feet. Now the restaurant has a very large sit down area with plenty of space for family-style dining. For an authentic Bun-N Burger experience, however, I recommend sitting at the counter. The place has a juke box with great rock and roll and Elvis Presley. Local San Gabriel Valley artwork is on the walls.
The food here is some of the best in the San Gabriel Valley. The name and ambience of the place might lead one to believe that this is purely a hearty American joint but it is much more. When the new Latino owners took over, Bun-N Burger added great Mexican food to the menu, including an excellent Menudo.
Pie slices are huge and absolutely delicious. The burgers are great and you can double the pleasure on “Two-for-One Tuesdays”. The coffee is always fresh and the servers know when you need a refill.
Even though it‘s busy at breakfast time on weekends, the parking is great, service is fast and food is fresh.
