Stevens Steak & Seafood House is a wonderful 50’s era throwback on the east side of Los Angeles in the industrial town of the City of Commerce. It’s a third generation family-owned restaurant. The specialty is prime rib dinners. New since the 50s are karaoke and salsa dancing on weekends.
Portions are generous and the prices are very competitive for the top-rated steak and seafood dinners. Stevens is open for lunch with menus similar to the dinner menu but at lower lunchtime prices for the same size portions.
The Big Jim Specials Prime Rib dinners and lunches are superb. The meat is tasty and comes with vegetables and differently prepared potatoes. All dinners are accompanied with a soup or salad. The spaghetti with meatballs dates from the tradition of the original Italian owners, with their own special rendition on this beloved Italian custom. In addition, they have a wonderful chateaubriand dinner that is sliced and carved table side. This dish is sold for two but there is enough food for four. For a few more bucks they’ll provide plates.
Stevens doesn’t stop with meats and seafood. Through the years good Mexican dinners have joined the menu in acknowledgement of the changing local constituency.
Appetizers are exceptional and include escargot, crab cakes and jumbo shrimp. The desserts will make you smile for a week especially the chocolate cake.
The valet parking and a smoking lounge allow your stay to be very comfortable.
