Poor Reds is an iconic establishment that’s been around for almost three-quarters of a century. It’s an odd mix that somehow works: a well-worn biker bar that’s often full of bikers, capital heavy weights, rockers and the “wine crowd” – all at the same time.
Poor Reds is famous for “Golden Cadillacs” and “Brown Cows” – they proudly claim to be the largest consumer of Galliano liqueur in the world.
They have wonderful BBQ ribs and great burgers, an extensive offering of beer on tap and a good local wine selection. But you come here for the atmosphere, the “Cadi’s” and the “throw-back” rock bands – and it’s a great place to finish an Amador County wine country tour or day on the Sierra slopes.
